$2,069,470.00 Total Available Purse

All of us at the Hawaii Marlin Tournament Series would like to offer a big MAHALO for a fantastic 2019 Tournament Season, and CONGRATULATIONS to all who caught fish and/or were lucky enough to win, place or show.

It was truly one of the most memorable tournament seasons on record, highlighted by Craig Lindner Jr.’s walkaway Championship with Capt. Teddy Hoogs and crew on board “Bwana” – and – Keith Hilton’s “grander” on Marlin Magic II, weighing in at 1,035.5 pounds.

The 33rd Big Island Marlin Tournament had to have been the most exciting big game competition in the history of the sport, with dramatic daily changes on the leaderboard, and Hilton’s “grander” on the final day.

Back to back 6 fish days on board “Last Chance” started it all off, but amazingly, did not stick with such intense competition.

LAZY MARLIN HUNT 2020

We look forward to another great season in 2020,  and our “new” BIG FISH tournament. After a Facebook and email query, we have decided to breathe life back into a Big Fish tourney we tinkered with years ago – and call it the Lazy Marlin Hunt – again.

Originally scheduled for March, it got caught up in the cross fire of all the Covid 19 rules and regulations, and had to be cancelled. Now we have plugged it back in the new schedule, right after the Kona Kick Off in early July.

Entry forms are up on the website and provided the State will loosen up and reinstate permits to operate again, we plan to run our full schedule, albeit in a a rearranged order.

Everyone loves to fish for BIG FISH! We are looking forward to a great tournament and some big ones. Response has been great! Everyone is just itchin’ to get back out fishing.

We’ve designed the rules to be an interesting mix of the best points of the Kona Throw Down and the Skins Marlin Derby.

It’s gonna be FUN.
